The Lucas County Canine Care & Control has many adoptable dogs looking for a good home.  The selection of adoptable dogs in our care changes often, so please keep checking back to see our current residents.

If you would like to meet a dog please call the shelter to schedule an appointment to come down. You can spend some time getting to know them and we hope you’ll find the perfect match.

Once you find a dog you are interested in adding to your family we will ask you to fill out a simple application. We strongly encourage every adopter to bring in all family members, both human and canine, to meet the new potential dog before finalizing the adoption.

All dogs are spayed or neutered before going to their new homes and all have had a behavioral evaluation, a medical evaluation including a heartworm test if over six months old, initial vaccinations (dhpp, bordetella and rabies, if old enough), a microchip and are dewormed. All of this, plus a dog license, will be yours for the adoption fee of only $125.
