This St. Patrick’s Day, let fate — and a little Irish luck! — determine your adoption fee during our St. “Pawtrick’s” Day adoption special.

Members of the public looking to adopt a dog from March 15-21, 2026 can try their luck by picking a coin from a pot o’ gold that will reveal an adoption fee. The reduced adoption fees apply to dogs 5 months and older and range from $0 to $50. A $25 Lucas County dog license also must be purchased at the time of adoption.

Potential adopters are invited to come meet dogs at LC4, located at 1301 Monroe St. in Toledo. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

As of today, more than 60 adoptable dogs are searching for new homes. New dogs become available for adoption daily and can be viewed at the Canine Care Center and online by clicking the adoption tab

If you already have a dog at home and are thinking about adding another, please be sure to bring your resident dog for a meet and greet. Families with children are also strongly encouraged to bring them along to help choose their new four-legged family member.

All dogs adopted from LC4 are spayed or neutered, have their initial vaccinations, a registered microchip, are current on parasite prevention, and have had a negative heartworm test.
